Analysis of Fox

From the beginning Fox is represented as being in control. She is represented as an empowered female role model, when we are first introduced to her it is clear to see the amount of tattoo’s she has across her arms and hands. This suggests she is masculine traits; furthermore the tattoo on her hand matches the pattern on her gun. This connotes she sees the gun as being fashionable, it also represents her as having more power. However she is still represented as sexy and promiscuous through her costume and some scenes. For example in one scene there is a long shot of her coming out of water, her back is shown revealing everything from head down to feet which connotes she is seen as a sex object. However she is still shown as a strong independent female role model, for example in the scene where she’s driving in the driver’s seat rescuing Wesley, she’s driving really fast which connotes she has a fast lifestyle, also the fact she rescued Wesley who is a man connotes she has more power.
